The Momoir

My first memories of motherhood are lonely ones. I didn’t start writing anything down until the humor snuck in, unbidden. No—this isn’t funny—me not knowing what I’m doing isn’t funny. But even I had to admit that what happened with the chest freezer in September 2020 (ahem, “The Anomaly Fallacy,” find below) was funny. So I wrote it down, and then I kept writing. This collection of posts—stories, scenes, bits of tiny child dialogue—catalogue the humor that kept sneaking in everywhere. These are my favorite posts from everything I wrote in Still Today from 2021-2025.

These posts are old enough to be behind a paywall, so, here’s what you should do if you want to read the Momoir (after the Prologue, which is un-paywalled):

  1. There should be a “free preview” option for seven days—you can read the whole thing in an afternoon or less, promise.

  2. Become a paid subscriber! Thanks for even considering doing such a thing!

  3. “Buy me a coffee” via the buy me a coffee website, then send me an email or a direct message saying that you did (if I don’t get you first! haha! I have a list of all free subscriber emails!). I will send you a “comp” subscription.
